The short version: the app collects nothing, and the website only holds what you explicitly send us.
Circin's web demo and the current preview app run entirely on your device. We don't set tracking cookies, use analytics, or send your in-app activity to any server. Anything you do in Circin — creating a local account, liking videos, building collections, drafting lessons — is stored only in your browser or on your phone, and is deleted when you clear your browser data or uninstall the app. It never reaches us.
The two things we do store, because you send them:
1. Launch notifications. If you ask to be notified at launch, we store the email address you enter, whether you're interested as a viewer or a creator, an optional topic, your consent choices, the date, and the country your request came from (no precise location; your IP address is used only for abuse-prevention rate limiting and expires within about an hour — it is never stored with your signup). We use it to send you one notification when Circin launches — plus occasional pre-launch updates only if you separately checked that box. Signing up never creates a Circin account. Email circinchan@gmail.com any time to be removed.
2. Questions you submit. If you ask a question through "What will Circin know on Day One?", we store the question text and the country it came from. Questions are never displayed publicly and are used only to guide what content Circin recruits first. Don't include personal information in a question.
Both are stored on our hosting provider's infrastructure (Cloudflare). If the site can't reach our server — for example in the local preview — your submission stays on your device instead. We never sell or share your information, and if you email us we'll use your address only to reply.
Children's privacy: because no data leaves your device, we do not collect personal information from anyone, including children. Circin accounts are for people 13 and older. For people under 13, a parent chooses between two options behind a parent PIN. Kids mode is watch-only: no account is created, and nothing about the viewer is stored — no email, name, birthday, watch history, likes, or comments. Kids mode shows only videos a Circin reviewer approved for under-13, has no comments, messages, or creating, no personalized recommendations, asks a parent before opening any outside link, and can only be left with the PIN a parent set on the device (the PIN never leaves the device). Creators see Kids-mode views only as an anonymous total. A parent can also create an optional kid profile with their consent: a first name or nickname plus likes, saves, and collections — stored only on this device, never transmitted, limited to the same approved catalog, and still without comments, messages, or posting. When Circin adds online accounts, kid profiles will not sync unless the parent completes verifiable parental consent first. When Circin adds online accounts, this policy will be updated first, parental-consent requirements will apply before any child data is collected, and the new policy will be announced here before taking effect.
